1. The service
Mapsource provides authenticated access to hosted OpenStreetMap and geospatial APIs. Your plan defines included requests, request rate, concurrency, timeout, memory, and response-size limits. Historical attic queries are not included.
Explorer is a time-limited, best-effort evaluation tier tied to one verified account, one organization, one project, and one active key. It has daily and total request limits, no overage, and no uptime commitment. You may not create multiple accounts or use aliases to evade those limits.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization to these terms.
2. Subscriptions and payment
Monthly subscriptions are billed each month. Annual subscriptions are billed once per year at the price shown during checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled.
Stripe processes checkout, payment methods, invoices, taxes, refunds, and related transaction information. Applicable taxes and the total charge are shown before you confirm payment. You authorize the recurring charges presented at checkout.
Paid plans stop at their included allowance by default. If you explicitly select metered continuity, you authorize the published per-request rate only up to the dollar cap you set. If you explicitly select lowest-cost upgrades, you also authorize a prorated upgrade only when Stripe’s preview fits within your cap and selected maximum plan. After the cap, service stops unless you provide new authorization. You may return to hard stop from the usage controls.
3. Cancellation and refunds
You may manage payment methods, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation from the billing portal. Unless the portal states otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and access continues through that date.
Charges are non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly agree otherwise. Report duplicate charges, billing errors, or an inability to access paid service promptly so we can investigate and correct them.
4. API keys and account security
Your API key is a credential. Keep it confidential, use it only through supported authentication methods, and rotate it if exposure is suspected. You are responsible for activity performed with your keys until they are revoked.
Explorer requires verified-email passwordless access. A verified account is optional for paid service but recommended for recovery. You are responsible for the security of the email account and active browser sessions used to authorize recovery. Verification links and replacement keys must not be forwarded or shared.
Keys may not be sold, publicly distributed, shared across unrelated customers, or used to evade plan limits. Contact support immediately if you believe a key or billing account has been compromised.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to attack systems, discover credentials, bypass limits, interfere with other customers, violate law, or infringe the rights of others. Do not deliberately submit workloads designed to exhaust shared capacity or repeatedly retry requests contrary to returned rate-limit and Retry-After instructions.
We may throttle, reject, suspend, or terminate abusive or unsafe traffic. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct ordinary usage problems.
6. Availability and changes
We monitor the service, publish operational state, and work to restore interruptions promptly. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, plans do not include a contractual uptime guarantee.
We may update infrastructure, API behavior, plan limits, or these terms. Material changes affecting a paid subscription will be communicated in advance when reasonably possible. Price changes apply no earlier than a future renewal and any notice required by law.
7. Open data and customer use
OpenStreetMap data remains subject to the Open Database License and applicable attribution requirements. You are responsible for determining how those obligations apply to databases, maps, applications, or other works you create from query results.
The service and decorative terrain are not intended for navigation, emergency response, or other uses where inaccurate or unavailable data could cause personal injury or material damage.
8. Warranty and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without implied warranties of uninterrupted operation, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
To the extent permitted by law, Mapsource is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service.
9. Governing law and operating location
The service is operated from Indiana, United States. These terms are governed by the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law in your location requires otherwise.
Any dispute must be brought in a court with jurisdiction over the company location unless applicable law gives you a different non-waivable venue or remedy.
10. Regional terms
Policy shown for Global
Mandatory consumer, privacy, and contract protections in your location remain in effect. A governing-law clause does not remove rights that applicable law makes non-waivable.
Region is reduced from edge-provided location and is not retained for this selection. If the label is wrong, rights granted by applicable law still apply.
