Why Mapsource exists
Many applications need geographic data and computation, while operating imports, query services, routing graphs, tiles and search can become a separate infrastructure project. Mapsource is intended to make those capabilities available through managed APIs.
Built around open geospatial data
Mapsource uses OpenStreetMap and other documented data sources for supported services. OpenStreetMap is community-maintained open data; its coverage and freshness vary. Mapsource is an independent service and is not endorsed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation or Overpass project.
